Chen Mou began serialization in 2001. The art and the intrigue leave both the storyteller’s voice and Chen Shou’s tightness. Sima Yi, Lü Bu, and a fictional school of the mirror drive the plot.
As a contemporary work it shows the story can still grow a new structure. As a source it is further away than the novel.
